The One

The One, also called 'Tone' by his friends, has been into the sounds of music and its deeper genres since his early age. As a producer, DJ, and sound engineer, he has supported the sounds of Hip-Hop, RnB, Grime, and other genres for many years.

Tone was born and raised in the Bay Area, California by a family who were listeners of a variety of music. Classical, Soul, Funk, Jazz, and Blues played major role of creating his music influences. His early influences range from Michael Jackson to Stevie Wonder.

Since his early ages, The One has been involved in many musical journeys. He was in all of his school bands from elementary school to high school. First playing clarinet and sax, but then finally switching to drums. A self taught drummer, The One has played in Hip-Hop bands and Jazz ensembles, and also performed live with many artists. It wasn't until high school that he became involved with music in the studio environment. Music production and sound engineering courses at a local college/high school taught The One everything he knows 'behind the music'. By spending hours and hours in the studio everyday, he has crafted his sound and finally knows what he wants for the rest of his life...to become the next super producer. His fast learning and quality talent grabbed the attention of a local newspaper who wrote an article about his dedication. At the age of 16, he began to DJ at local house parties, weddings, school dances, and eventually became well crafted at mixing and getting the crowds going. Being a DJ playing the latest music out, The One came across the futuristic hip-hop production of Timbaland, and also the DrumnBass sounds of Roni Size and LTJ Bukem. The love of the two genres eventually introduced him to the sounds of Grime in 2003. Listening to Dizzie Rascal, Wiley, and London, UK based underground radio station, Rinse FM, has given The One a vision of the music he wants to push in the future.

DJing and producing became daily life for The One. He has produced and sound engineered for many up and coming vocalists and has been featured on local mixtapes, and artist albums. His DJ career became most active when he started to perfrom at clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area. The One's DJ skills, playing Hip-Hop, RnB, Grime, Dubstep and other beats, has taken him from California all the way to the UK. One of his biggest performances to daste was at the legendary 'Technicality All-Nighter' in London, UK.

A day in the life of The One is busy as he is in the lab working on Hip-Hop and RnB music, and he's also pushing the underground sounds of Grime in San Francisco. He has recently collaborated with THA MEGATRON to form the B.I.G. Crew. From the weekly radio show 'Grimewave FM', to the club monthly known as 'Grime City', The One and the B.I.G. crew has began to be known internationally. B.I.G. Crew even got their own chapter in the UK Grime DVD 'Risky Roadz 2'. With the B.I.G. Crew, he plays a major role pushing Grime in the USA. The One is also now affiliated with Photek and the TEKDBZ army, pushing Grime, Hip-Hop, and DrumnBass sounds worldwide. With all of his recent achievments, The One has many projects in the works such as mix cds, a U.S. Grime label, remix work, and more Hip-Hop and RnB production and collaborations worldwide.
